Dear Diary,
Daddy told us today that he’s planning on getting animals on the farm.
I was all for that! I reminded him that I’ve been begging for a (cat, dog, ???)
He informed me that he was thinking more along the lines of cows and pigs. In fact, Mom has ordered some books on how to raise farm animals.
Ummm, peee-ewww! Pigs!???
And cow patties? You don’t put those between buns! I know, because I went on that field trip to the dairy farm.
Daddy said we should come up with some sort of symbol that we might consider branding the animals with. Or maybe just something to use as a symbol for our farm. (Daddy’s not sure he wants to brand the animals.)
I don’t know anything about branding!

Do you think your Dad should brand the livestock? If so, which method would you recommend?
Regardless of the branding issue, you should come up with a name and symbol for your farm. And you can make it however you wish.
Oh, and don’t forget to say what animal you’ve been asking your parents for!
